1. The architecture, because it explains everything else
StudyVise is a static web application. There is no StudyVise backend, no login, no user database and no analytics account tied to you. When you open StudyVise, your browser downloads some files and runs them. After that, the work happens on your device.
This is not a marketing claim; it is a consequence of how the product is built, and it constrains what we could collect even if we wanted to.
2. What we collect

The one font we load from elsewhere
Everything StudyVise needs is served from our own domain, with one exception we would rather name than have you find: the retro arcade break screen uses a pixel typeface called Press Start 2P, and the browser fetches it from Google Fonts. That request tells Google's font server an IP address, the time, and which font was wanted. It carries no name, no study data, no conversation and no cookie set by us, and it happens only on that one break screen — not in the app, not on this page.
The font is loaded in a way that never blocks the break: if Google cannot be reached, or the device is offline, the arcade opens immediately in an ordinary monospace typeface instead. Nothing waits, and nothing fails.
We are telling you about a font because the alternative — a claim that nothing ever leaves our domain, with a quiet exception — is the kind of thing this policy exists to avoid. If you would prefer even this not to happen, say so and we will bundle the typeface with the site.
If advertising is ever introduced
There is no advertising in StudyVise today. We say this as a statement about this build, not as a promise about every future one. StudyVise Free may one day carry clearly labelled, limited advertising, kept separate from the learning content, and we may receive affiliate commission on optional offers.
If that happens, three things hold:
- This Privacy Policy is updated before the feature ships, naming the provider and what it processes — never afterwards, and never quietly.
- We still do not sell personal data about your child, and we do not build the learning experience around collecting personal information for advertising.
- An advertisement never means your child’s conversations, notes or study history are shared with an advertiser.
Until this section says otherwise, treat the table above as complete.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records ordinary request logs (IP address, timestamp, file requested, user agent) as part of serving the page, as every web server does. We use these only for security and diagnostics, do not combine them with anything else, and do not attempt to identify individuals from them.
3. What is stored on your device
StudyVise uses your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB to keep: your profile (name, country, board, class, subjects), your settings, your API keys, your progress and revision schedule, your saved notes and decks, your chat history, your XP, streak and characters.
None of this is transmitted to us. You can export all of it as a file, or erase all of it, from Settings. Uninstalling the app or clearing browser data also removes it.
4. Third-party AI providers — the important part
StudyVise works by sending your request directly from your browser to the AI provider whose key you supplied.
- We are not an intermediary in that request. It does not pass through our systems.
- What that provider does with your prompt — whether it is logged, retained, reviewed by humans, or used to train models — is determined entirely by their policy, not ours.
- We have no control over, and no ability to delete, anything held by them.
- Different providers differ substantially. Some free tiers explicitly reserve the right to use submitted content for model improvement. Please read the policy of any provider before connecting it, particularly if a child will be using it.
5. Children's privacy
StudyVise is designed to be usable by school-age children and is built to minimise data by default.
- We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children, because we do not collect personal information from anyone.
- We deliberately do not ask for a parent's email address. We considered it, and rejected it: with no server we could never send to it, so storing an adult's address on a child's device would be data collected for no purpose.
- Instead the app asks a child to confirm a grown-up knows, and provides a page the child can show them.
- Break reminders, scope filters and reward gating apply automatically by declared age.
- No leaderboards, no public profiles, no messaging between users, no social features of any kind.
If you believe a child has provided personal data to us despite the above, contact us and we will investigate, though in practice there is no store in which such data could sit.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the UK/EU GDPR and comparable laws, you have rights to access, correct, erase and port your personal data.
Because we hold no personal data about you, these rights are exercised directly in the app: Settings → Export JSON gives you everything, and Settings → Erase everything deletes it irreversibly. For anything our host's server logs may contain, write to us and we will act on it.
For data held by your AI provider, you must exercise your rights with that provider.
7. Security
The Service is delivered over HTTPS. Your API key is kept in browser storage, which is isolated to the site's origin — but it is not encrypted at rest, and anyone with access to your unlocked device could read it. Use a device passcode, do not use StudyVise with your key on a shared or public computer, and remove the key from Settings if you no longer want it stored.
8. Future features
Some features are described in the app as "coming soon" — cross-device sync, verified curriculum packs, a weekly progress card, discount offers. None is active today and none collects anything today. If any of them requires us to hold data in future, this policy will be updated first and the change surfaced in the app before it takes effect.
9. Changes
We will update this policy as the product changes. The "last updated" date above will change. Material changes affecting children or data handling will be shown in the app.
